Q2 REVIEW

We’re halfway through 2022. I’m spending time reviewing the intentions that I set for the second quarter of the year (Q2).

I’ll be looking through my planner, journal, and Google calendar for a review. I’ll see what goals I crushed, glossed over, and totally ignored.

The next step will be looking at the Why.  What made one goal attainable and one ignored after I set it?

How I Set My Goal for the Year

My year started off with a bang. I had a lovely conference with 75 like-minded women.  The conference was run by my mentor #Tonya Leigh.  We gathered together for a long weekend in beautiful South Beach Miami. It was a great way to connect with new friends and dig deeper into setting extraordinary goals.

I always go through a goal-setting process where I examine the why of setting the goal in the first place. Does basing your goal on a strong “why” always work?   Well, not always. Still,  it’s better than willy-nilly pulling a goal out of thin air or doing what you think you should be doing, or what others expect of you.

Some of my goals at the start of the year included:

  • Join a MasterMind. When I set this goal I did not know that my mentor would be hosting one!

  • Lose 15 pounds. In February I joined a local gym. It was the first time I have ever stepped foot inside a gym. Best. Decision. Ever.

  • Earn my ACC through the International Coaching Federation. I completed this goal in February.

In  Q 2, I joined my very first Business Mastermind. Again, this event is hosted by my mentor Tonya Leigh.  This is a six-month MM with 30 awesome businesswomen striving to take their businesses to the next level.  Just being in the room with these ladies is awe-inspiring and great motivation for me to take my coaching business to extraordinary levels.

This helped me to take some of my goals, like physical fitness and business growth even further.

Halfway through the year, it’s time for me to take stock of where I’m at with all of my goals.

How to do a Q2 Review:

Here’s how it works:

  • Block off time in your calendar for this process. Depending on how much time you can allow you may need to do this process over a couple days.

  • Silence your phone.

  • Gather your journal, day planner, and any other calendaring system you use.

  • Do this in a place with no distractions.

  • Light a candle, play some background music and grab your favorite beverage. This is a self-care process!

Look back over the last six months (Q1 & Q2) of this year by pulling out your calendar, journals, and more to see where your goals went well and where they didn’t. Analyze what people, places, and situations helped you bring them to life, and which may have gotten in the way. Also, be sure to ask yourself if your original “why” is still meaningful enough for you? Or were your goals unrealistic? You may need to journal how you are feeling during this process.

Next, look ahead to Q3

You may need to set aside a different day for this process. If so refer back to the bullet points above.

List out all of the goals you would like to hit in the next 90 days (Q3).  Make sure you know your why for each goal. Otherwise, you won’t be motivated to complete it.

Next, list out all the steps it’ll take to achieve that goal, and then start scheduling each step.

For example “Lose ten pounds in the next 90 days” is attainable, but unless you list specific steps and schedule them or set a reminder, it won’t happen.

Schedule all of your workouts at the gym and sync them to your calendar.

You may want to keep a food diary for the next 30 days. You could use an app or a notebook. Keep it on the counter where you’ll see eat each day.

Lastly, you’ll want to make sure you’re consuming lots of water so set a reminder on your phone to ping several times a day.

You can use this process for anything. Your goal may be to edit and organize your closets and drawers in the next 90 days. You’d want to make a plan of what you are going to do with all the stuff that no longer suits you. Then schedule a specific time frame to tackle each closet and drawer

It’s amazing what you can accomplish in one hour per week for twelve weeks!

I highly recommend this process!
